Racing Ironman can be approached as a project but why not approach it like a race and put it all on the line. Sure youll blow up every now and then but maybe youll surprise yourself one day.

Which is not to say that the time matters cos it doesnt but dude put it out there. To me 10:54 or 14:14 is a better time if you went out and "RACED"

I think all this slow on the bike stuff comes from a bunch of runners. Whom have gotten off the bike and been surprised how much it hurts. its about the pain guys...enjoy it.rick smithnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31362412.post-5279722226432117672007-09-14T12:55:00.000-07:002007-09-14T12:55:00.000-07:00Mat - I appreciate your report and had a very simi...Mat - I appreciate your report and had a very similar experience in my first IM last weekend in Madison. It is frustrating to ride what I feel is so "slow" but in the end I realized that the expectations were just a false reality. Luckily I figured that out before I started the ride on Sunday.... which allowed me to run well.

If you head to my blog you'll see the rest...

I was a coordinator at the IMLOU finish line.... too bad I missed you come through.

Congrats again.garyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02628479484371080884noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31362412.post-17411737971857689812007-09-13T08:19:00.000-07:002007-09-13T08:19:00.000-07:00If your girlfriend has not tried chiropractic, may...If your girlfriend has not tried chiropractic, maybe she should try it first. It is less invasive and a lot safer than surgery, and a lot less extensive than braces that may not work. At least with chiropractic if it doesn't work it doesn't take a year and thousands of dollars to find out. My wife had the same symptoms and it worked for her. Good luck.JEShttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13395125894328677844noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31362412.post-67707623854443466522007-09-11T08:03:00.000-07:002007-09-11T08:03:00.000-07:00keep up the good work....NASCAR!!keep up the good work....NASCAR!!BIGZACHhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10940351108262847191noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31362412.post-28881473334783918782007-09-10T18:51:00.000-07:002007-09-10T18:51:00.000-07:00Mat:Finally had an opportunity to catch up on your...Mat:

Finally had an opportunity to catch up on your posts. Appreciate your t...Congratulations on your IM time. Appreciate your thoughts as I was in a similar position to you. e.g. was convinced that I was a lot faster than I really was. Did a reasonably fast Half IM off 8 weeks training and thought that I would nuke my first IM. Did IM Australia in 2006 and finished with an 11:13. Was absolutely pumped to finish given that I was sick in the week leading up to the race coupled with a tough bike/run course that Port Macquarie dished up. If there is one thing that ironman teaches you is humility and also proves the gap between expectation and reality. Again well done.

Adam
AustraliaAdam Markshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14726482815318019219noreply@blogger.com
